Gardening time for Kedington School.
KedingtonNews.co.uk would like to thank Kedington School for some brilliant pictures they have sent us of their recent gardening exploits.
The 10th of November saw Year Three (The Leopards) plant a Rowan Tree in the Schools Wildlife Area. The Tree was provided by the BBC as part of their Breathing Places Project, with November 10th being their Plant a tree day with hundreds of schools across the country taking part. Rowans are noted for their long life span so this one could be around for the next Half Millennium.
The following Saturday saw further horticultural endeavours at the school's Family Gardening Morning. Despite the rest of the country being subject to torrential rain and gales the thirty 32 children and parents who turned out to help were blessed with a couple of hours of sunshine in which to complete their tasks for the School's gardening club, The Diggers And Growers. This resulted in the planting of 30 hedge saplings (To add to those already planted), the moving and refilling of seven raised beds and the creation of a new leaf cage which the children waisted no time in collecting leaves for.
On a side note. Further congratulations to the children of Kedington School who raised £105 pounds for children in need coming to school in nightclothes for their Pyjama Day.
